Kade Alexie is a writer, director, and performer based in Los Angeles. He holds a B.A. in English from Oberlin College and an M.A. in Acting for Screen from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
Kade wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the short film Pit Stop, which was named Festival Favorite at Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs LGBTQ+ Film Festival. His earlier short Eclosion was a semi-finalist at the Blastoff Film Festival. His most recent film is A Bench for Darren, which he wrote, directed, produced, and performed in. His films are character-driven dramedies that explore mental health and relationship dynamics. Creative influences include the films of Jonathan Demme, Chloe Zhao, and Nicole Holofcener.
Kade has acted in numerous other independent films and stage productions in Los Angeles, New York, and London, and is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA. He has performed in L.A.'s comedy scene as a stand-up and with the indie improv team Garage. He has trained at such acting schools as the Ivana Chubbuck Studio, Michael Howard Studio, HB Studio, Black Nexxus, Lesly Kahn & Company, and Upright Citizens Brigade. He studied filmmaking at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and screenwriting at UCLA Extension and Sundance Collab.
Outside of his artistic work, Kade has spent over eight years in customer success and nonprofit development, during which time he has helped improve customer support processes, produced benefit events, and managed donor communications. His experience across fundraising, performance, and storytelling reflects his ongoing interest in how people connect and how stories help us make sense of who we are.
